Apparently, not everyone wants to look like Barbie.
HorrorPops lead singer/bassist
Patricia Day has filed a lawsuit in Indiana District Court against toy manufacturer Mattel for stealing her stylish "rocker" look. She claimed that the "Hard Rock Barbie" released last year is based on her
Hell Yeah album cover and that the doll is a spitting image of herself.
I guess any '50s pinup-influenced rocker with tats, black hair, fishnets and red nails should file a suit, too? Apparently, Mattel obtained licenses for other dolls from stars including Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett and Deborah Harry, but not her. Day is seeking an injunction and punitive damages for the "self-endorsement."
