We lost another great musician today. Warp Records (the band's label) announced that lead singer Trish Keenan of British electronic-pop band Broadcast has died from pneumonia-related complications this morning. Her manager, Martin Spoke, announced, "She had been in Australia and had stayed on to see relatives, and she had come back home and fell ill when she got back to England." The pneumonia was a result of a bout with the H1N1 flu virus, which Keenan contracted recently. She was 42.

In 1995, Broadcast formed in Birmingham with guitarist Tim Felton, bassist James Cargill, keyboardist Roj Stevens and drummer Steve Perkins. They have released four studio albums, as well as two compilations of singles and other songs. The band fuse '60s psychedelic sounds with electronic effects and have been compared favorably with Stereolab. Their song "The Book Lovers" was featured in the film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

In memory of Keenan, listen to "Tender Buttons."
