Gettin' Made: Knit One, Cure Too This Weekend

Tomorrow, over 100 knitters, survivors and supporters in pink Santa hats will join Spa Gregorie's Day Spa and Salon to converge upon Mainplace Mall in Santa Ana for the third annual Knit One, Cure Too charity event. Join them for a day of knitting to produce scarves that will raise money for breast cancer research.

After the jump, more details on this hands-on crafting for charity event.

All scarves produced at the Knit-a-thon on Saturday will go to auction to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. "There's a huge underground knitting community that is unbelievably supportive of the cause," says Angela Cortright, Spa Gregorie's owner and founder. "All of the beautiful scarves, hats and other items sold out last year. I just knew we had to do it again. Not only were folks getting an affordable and darling scarf for the holidays, they were helping raise money for an amazing cause."

The Knit One, Cure Too event is open to the public; everyone is encouraged to show up and support the cause. "Many of us have lost loved ones to this horrible disease. Even the smallest gesture is an extra step towards a cure," says Cortright. "These one-of-a-kind
items are truly gifts that keep on giving."

Knit One, Cure Too takes place Saturday, December 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Westfield Mainplace Mall located at 2800 N. Main Street, Santa Ana. For more information, visit the Spa Gregorie's website.
