Nicki Minaj and Komen for the Cure Turn Black Friday Pink
![]() |
It only makes sense--the break-out femcee has an unrelenting obsession with the color pink, and has been so infectious that her fans, or "Barbies" as they prefer to be called, have all but painted themselves pink in support of her upcoming debut album Pink Friday (wait... they've actually done that too) So why not mobilize for an actual cause?
"I fully support the efforts of Pink Friday and the goal of raising funds to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure and their charge to bring an end to breast cancer," Minaj said in an official statement. "I am pleased to be associated with the Pink Friday initiatives and to raise awareness amongst fellow African American women who are often the hardest hit by breast cancer."
Meanwhile, the ladies (and gentlemen!) of Komen's Orange County branch are continuing their support of raising cash for the cure locally next month. They're awarding grants to local nonprofit organizations at their Awards Breakfast on Dec. 3 and presenting their third annual knit-a-thon, Knit One, Cure Too on Dec. 4.
