According to the Press-Telegram, Long Beach's city council voted to revoke Evo Lounge's entertainment permit. The club, located at 5300 E. Second St., is bro central; its neighbors described problems with noise, violence and unruly patrons. The decision was also based on a hearing officer's recommendation.
Evo operator Gary Roth maintains he has no violations on his record, so losing his permit was a nightmare, but in Long Beach, "once an entertainment permit is revoked, the operator can't apply again for a year."

Evo will remain open as a restaurant and bar, but live entertainment or dancing will not be allowed.
