There's been talk of Dusty Rhodes and the River Band, our favorite live act, calling it quits for a while now, but in a phone conversation yesterday, lead singer Dustin Apodaca confirmed the news.

He also confirmed that he is running for a spot in the Anaheim City Council in the Nov. 8 elections; read the full interview on Heard Mentality tomorrow.
Shocked? Maybe. But in a world where Wyclef Jean is running for president of Haiti, I don't think anything surprises audiences anymore, really.

Oh, and if you can make it, you should really check out their show at the Grove of Anaheim tonight--it might be one of their last.
