Carrying the torch for the Ramones is a heavy burden for a bass player to carry--especially when it's not Dee Dee. But when we heard
CJ Ramone--the band's last bassist before their retirement---would be stopping by the Galaxy Concert Theatre to thrash out the three-chord hits of punk's iconic grandfathers, we were bound to find some interest in this Santa Ana gig. It's also going to be a big night for our favorite cover band clown crew,
Yeastie Boys, who are providing a three-ring circus of foul-mouthed punk support along with Mental Break Down, Darling Nikki and Obsequy.
For diehard Ramonanites, this looks like a $12 well spent, even if you arrive late to skip the melange of metal acts.
For the face painted fans that helped turn the Doll Hut into a cramped Anaheim sweat lodge during the Yeastie Boys' 1st Annual clown jam, we're sure you'll have a lot more moshing room. We're especially looking forward to seeing one of the Weekly's go-to photographers, John Gilhooley sing with the band on stage and maybe get a pie thrown in his face. We can't wait. The show starts at 8 p.m.
