One of the unofficial highlights of San Diego Comic-Con is people watching. You've got your socially awkward fans who could use adult-sized Garanimals so they can dress themselves. You've got your cosplayers, your furries, your LARPers, your booth babes and your homebrew costume designers.
And, of course, you've got your celebrities.
In the middle of a
Boob War, celebrities are always on the front lines, making Comic-Con a very attractive theater of operations. Here are the 15 women--and their assets--to be on the look out if you're heading to San Diego this week.
1. Blake Lively
Why she's at Comic-Con Green Lantern movie panel, Saturday, July 24.
2. Scarlett Johansson
 |
| Marvel Studios |
Why she's at Comic-Con Possibly accompanying husband Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern) or appearing during a surprise Avengers casting announcement during the Thor and Captain America: First Avenger panel, Saturday, July 24.
Why she makes the list Not mentioning ScarJo on a list of awesome boobage is like not mentioning Citizen Kane on a list of greatest films. Sure, it's an obvious pick, but that doesn't make it an undeserving pick.
3. Olivia Munn
Why she's at Comic-Con Covering the event for G4.
Why she makes the list After suffering
the slings and arrows of feminist critics because she got a tryout on
The Daily Show, all Olivia needs to do now is complete a miracle or two, and she will be the patron saint of San Diego Comic-Con.
4. Carla Gugino
Why she's at Comic-Con Sucker Punch panel, Saturday, July 24
Why she makes the list She wears sexy and classy like a black silk dress. And like a black silk dress, she might not be flashy, but she certainly gets the job done.
5. Kaley Cuoco
Why she's at Comic-Con The Big Bang Theory panel, Friday, July 23
Why she makes the list Her cute, girl-next-door appeal makes geeks everywhere think they've got a shot at someone like her. TV betrays another segment of the population yet again.
6. Vanessa Hudgens
Why she's at Comic-Con Sucker Punch panel, Saturday, July 24
Why she makes the list There's something creepy about including her on the list. All that High School Musical indoctrination got to me, I guess. Of course, not enough to exclude her.
 |
| Maxim Magazine |
Why she's at Comic-Con Nikita pilot screening and Q&A, Saturday, July 24
Why she makes the list Unassuming as Ted Mosby's future daughter who sits mutely as her dad spins yarns about his life using Bob Saget's voice in How I Met Your Mother, Lyndsy brought the hotness in Hot Tub Time Machine and an alley sex scene in Kick-Ass. Maybe she's really Barney's daughter.
8. Olivia Wilde
 |
| Walt Disney Pictures |
Why she's at Comic-Con TRON: Legacy panel, Thursday, July 22
Why she makes the list How can you pass up Olivia Wilde decked out in neon blue piping that outlines her lady parts?

9. Whitney Matheson
Why she makes the list I was conflicted spotlighting a fellow journalist, if only because she's not in a profession that emphasizes and fetishizes appearance. But that doesn't make Whitney any less attractive. And part of that beauty includes being witty and having great taste in music, movies and comic books. While you're in San Diego, check her out at her
Pop Candy Comic-Con Meetup if you can.
10. Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Why she's at Comic-Con Scott Pilgrim vs. The World panel, Thursday, July 22; Entertainment Weekly presents ... Women Who Kick Ass: A New Generation of Heroines, Friday, July 23
Why she makes the list With her allure and charisma and Scott Pilgrim's potential to be the sleeper hit of the summer, Mary Elizabeth (or is it just Mary? I always get confused with double first names) could well be poised to take over the world herself. Or at least the portion where all the indie geeks live.
11. Summer Glau
Why she's at Comic-Con The Cape panel, Friday, July 23
Why she makes the list Since Firefly, the TV gods have deemed it necessary for her to be on series television no matter what. I can live with that.
 |
| Complex Magazine |
12. Alison Brie
Why she's at Comic-Con Community panel, Saturday, July 24
Why she makes the list Much like fellow NBC sitcom colleague Jenna Fischer, Alison gets frumped up for her role on Community. But damn, does she clean up real nice.
Why she's at Comic-Con Archer panel, Friday, July 23
Why she makes the list Aisha deserves recognition as a comedian and a hottie. In fact, she's so sexy that animators are compelled to make her character in Archer, Lana Kane, just as hot as Aisha is in real life. It's a fact!
14. Yvonne Strahovski
 |
| NBC |
Why she's at Comic-Con Chuck screening and Q&A, Saturday, July 24
Why she makes the list Yvonne is the best thing about Chuck. That's right, I said it. Sorry, not a big fan of Chuck.
15. Jon Favreau
 |
| Universal Pictures |
Why he's at Comic-Con Cowboys & Aliens panel, Saturday, July 24
Why he makes the list Check out the moobs on Favreau! If that picture isn't everyone's fantasy, then clearly you don't know how to enjoy the good things in life.
