Paul Gray's autopsy results, released Monday, show that Slipknot's heavy metal bassist died of an accidental overdose of morphine and fentanyl, a synthetic morphine substitute, police said Monday.

Gray, 38, was found dead in a hotel room in Des Moines on May 25 by a hotel worker. Later, the worker told a 911 dispatcher that aside from pills in the room, he also found a hypodermic needle near Gray's body.

The autopsy revealed signs of significant heart disease.
