Can you smell the estrogen in the air? For the first time in a decade, festival founder Sarah McLachlan is bringing the celebration of women in music back to Orange County. But as it turns out, the lineup is severely lacking. Unfortunately for OC fans, many of the biggest names like Sheryl CrowRihanna Carly Simon, Colbie Caillat, Go-Go's and Mary J. Blige, are not slated to perform in Irvine.

The all-day festival is scheduled for July 10 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. The diverse lineup includes: Emmylou Harris, Brandi Carlile, Miranda Lambert, Jenni Rivera, Ximena Sariñana, Susan Justice, the Weepies and Marina and the Diamonds. We're hoping they add more acts for the local date because, rather than Cat Power or Norah Jones, we have the "Ourstage Winning Artist." Whatever the hell that is.

Even former Costa Mesa-based singer/songwriter Zee Avi is not scheduled to perform. One would think that, after an 11-year layoff, McLachlan and Co. would produce a killer female cohort. Apparently not. On the bright side, several unsung artists will get some valuable exposure. For those of you who are still interested, tickets are on sale now.
