Buzz About The Golden Bear

Have you guys heard of the Golden Bear Club? It's a Huntington Beach venue that, according to the OC Register,  "was demolished in 1986 that hosted some of the biggest names in the music industry, including B.B. King, The Doors and Bob Dylan." Word on the street is that local developers are planning to rebuild a 7,500-square-foot music venue where the original was on Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. Aaand while everyone involved is keeping mum about it, we did get this notice on Facebook yesterday from The Golden Bear Club as a Facebook status, which probably means they are pushing through with it:

"Anyone who wants to be super rad and invite all of their friends to like me might get invited to opening night... just sayin."

The profile also says the approximately 600-person capacity, live entertainment venue is scheduled to open early 2011. Like them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter; we have it on good authority that if it pushes through, we're going to get the cutting-edge music venue we deserve, where bands that play in places like Spaceland and the Echo will be performing. Awesome.
