This weekend, beloved Long Beach hangout the Prospector is a worthy destination for those looking for a quirky, experimental rock fix.
Featuring a lineup of mostly-local LBC talent, the bar welcomes ethereal pop songstress
Katie the Pest, eclectic and echo-heavy Long Beach rock vets
Baby Champ (who are apparently playing their first show in about a year) and freaky folk/rock tribe
Light Music
Oddly enough, there's also a touring, Melbourne-based Australian band on the bill called
Electric Jellyfish. Besides the fact that they obviously traveled the farthest to get to the show, the tunes on their MySpace also suggest that their psychedelic sound also rocks the hardest out of all the acts on the line-up--sorry LBC bands.
But we're sure that everyone on stage will bring their "A" game for what will surely be a cramped Saturday crowd. And for a measly $5, you'd have to be a nut to miss this one. Sigh--okay, bad joke. But it'll be a good show!
