News regarding No Doubt's first studio album since 2001's Rock Steady continues to trickle in. Tom Dumont, guitarist for Orange County's most beloved band, recently tweeted: "Tony [Kanal] and Gwen [Stefani] are rocking the synth. Our little studio is warm and candlelit, above the glowing city."

And now Gwen Stefani has spoken to Rolling Stone about how since joining the boys in the band, who had been doing some recording without her, "things are kind of starting over." Because, y'know, she is pretty much the boss. Stefani also reveals where No Doubt is turning for inspiration.

"The last few weeks, we've been listening to the worst of the '80s, in the sense of bad but good," she tells RS. "Pop songs, one-hit wonders, nifty songs, things like that. You just go back and find things that you love, and try to figure out how they made them. We just listen to good songs, and then writing our own stuff, we try to pull it out wherever we can."
