Jay-Z, Muse, Gorillaz, Pavement, Muse, Thom Yorke, Faith No More to Headline Coachella

Let the rumors end--finally. The Coachella roster has been confirmed. Jay-Z ranks as the biggie for the fest that takes place April 16-18 in the desert/aka Empire Polo Field, Indio, but the rad reunions go to Pavement and Faith No More. As for blasts from the past, we're stoked to see Sly and the Family Stone listed but fear we might be setting ourselves up for a serious letdown judging by Sly's few random performances in recent years, all of which pretty much sucked. We're still trying to figure out what the four question marks after Thom Yorke's name mean, since the press release offers no explanation.

Other acts I won't be missing--or, at leats that's the plan--include the Dead Weather (although a White Stripes headlining spot over Gorillaz really should've happened), Them Crooked Vultures, LCD Soundsystem, She & Him, Lucero, the Avett Borthers (which I interviewed for piece that recently ran in sister paper Dallas Observer), Hockey, P.O.S., Grizzly Bear, Devo, Corinne Bailey Rae, Shooter Jennings, De La Soul, Spoon and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Stay tuned for tons of coverage--including mini-features on just about every band scheduled to perform. Tickets for Coachella go on sale Friday at 10:00 a.m. Three-day weekend passes are $269.00, plus surcharges. Click for more details.
