Weezer's Irvine Date Postponed

Thanks to a nasty bus accident that left Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo hospitalized with a punctured lung and a boo-boo on his spleen, the band has postponed their January 11 show at the UCI Bren Events Center in Irvine. If there's good news to be had, the word "postponed" implies that the band will play eventually, whereas cancelled means you're shit outta luck.

In an ironic turn of events, doctors told Cuomo that his health wasn't optimal to fly, so he and some Weezer crew took a bus from Albany to Los Angeles. If this experience doesn't result in material for a No. 1 song, I don't know what does.

Official statement from Bren Events Center:

Due to band member illness, this concert will have to be re-scheduled for a date in the near future. Patrons can hold there existing tickets for the new date.
