This Week in Shopping Center Concerts: '1st Annual Anaheim MusicFest' at GardenWalk

Last month, our Navel Gazing news blog proclaimed a series of Anaheim Historical Society-commissioned murals to be "Finally, a Reason to Visit Anaheim's GardenWalk." Looks like there could be another this Saturday.

The shopping center, located within shuttle-distance of Disneyland, is hosting what they're calling the "1st Annual Anaheim MusicFest," "celebrating Orange County's musical diversity." It's fairly ambitious for a free shopping center concert, with 11 local bands on two stages going from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.--and they seem determined to back up the diverse tag, with "traditional blues-rock," a "17-piece big band" and "acoustic tech rock alternative" all in the mix.

Now, I can't say I've actually heard of any of these acts performing (maybe you have: Matt Shockley? 7th Sons? Dig Jelly? Love Star?) but the fun is in the discovery, right? Plus, GardenWalk is the only place in Orange County with a Lush store, so that's a draw.
