Music-Inspired April Fools' Day Jokes Meet Mixed Results
Everyone likes to get in on the fun on April Fools' Day, but perhaps not everyone should.
Best music prank of the day goes to Nine Inch Nails (thus the fetching pic of Trent up there), who posted this hilarious link today on their official Web site, about a new album produced by Timbaland. Take that, Chris Cornell! The attention to detail is to superb, given the repetitive (but undeniably catchy) beat playing in the background, and the enticingly fake track list. "Still Hurts." Teehee. But "laid, paid and played (featuring fergie of the black eyed peas and al jourgensen)" is probably the best. That actually sounds awesome. I hope Reznor actually posed for a pic wearing those shutter shades, but it was probably just a Photoshop job.
Of course, there are plenty of bad ones, too, like this "funny" press release that came in the electronic mail from "7-10 Music":
COMERICA PARK TO BE RENAMED "KID ROCK FIELD"
KID ROCK'S NEW BEER TO BECOME OFFICIAL BEER OF DETROIT BASEBALL
Detroit, MI - It was announced today that Kid Rock has purchased the naming rights to the home of the Detroit Tigers for an undisclosed sum. Kid Rock and The Michigan Brewing Company, in a separate negotiation, are proud to announce that Kid Rock's forthcoming new line of beer will become the official beer of the Detroit Tigers.
Says Kid Rock, "This has been a dream of mine for a long time, and with the banks in trouble it seemed like the right time for me to reach out to the fine people at Comerica Bank. Since they relocated to Dallas after opening the stadium here, they were very open to the idea of making this deal. I've never been more excited for opening day, and I'm proud to be able to add my name to the legacy of my favorite baseball team."

Haha! Kid Rock jokes! That's uh...definitely something that they did.
But the funniest joke I saw all day had nothing to do with music, it was this quiz from the fabulously awesome site Sporcle. It's deceptively difficult!
