On-Sale Saturday: The Vandals, Lamb of God, More

On Oct. 18 in 1925, the Grand Ole Opry opened in Nashville, Tennessee. Truly an important day in the annals of music history - but will it be replaced in significance by these Oct. 18 on-sale dates for upcoming Orange County shows? Only time will tell.

On sale: 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 ($16.50)
Each year, Huntington Beach punk band The Vandals play this holiday show, drawing mostly off of tracks from their wacky 1996 Christmas album "Oi to the World." The disc ranges from traditional numbers to songs Burl Ives probably wouldn't recognize, like "Christmas Time for My Penis."

Lamb of God, Dec. 16 at the Grove of Anaheim
On sale: Noon Saturday, Oct. 18 ($25)
Heavy metal, not Christian rock. Sorry.

Anthony Hamilton, Dec. 11 at the House of Blues, Anaheim
On sale: 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 ($27.50)
An R&B/neo-soul singer. Not to be confused with Anthony Hamilton the snooker player. Because I know you were thinking about famous snooker players. Heh heh, snooker.

Tesla, Dec. 6 at the House of Blues, Anaheim
On sale: 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 ($30)
Tesla is still making albums? It doesn't sound right, but it is; they just released Forever More last week, and it's their first album produced by Terry Thomas since 1994's Bust a Nut. Heh heh, bust a nut.

Styx, Feb. 13 at the House of Blues, Anaheim
On sale: 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 ($65)
Wait, WTF? $65? For Styx? Honestly? That's more than the cheap seats for Coldplay (which are also overpriced, but still). Only one word for that, folks: delusion.
